Dr. Laura Epple is a Colorado native from a small farming and ranching town out on the plains. She grew up moving cattle on horseback and demonstrated a strong, innate love for veterinary medicine from an early age. Vowing never to live out of Colorado, she completed her undergraduate degree in microbiology with veterinary school to follow at Colorado State University. She fell in love with emergency medicine picking up relief shifts for area ER clinics while completing additional doctoral studies in cancer immunotherapeutics.
Dr. Epple intensely loves the challenge of case diversity in emergency medicine – there will never be a lack of something new to learn each day. Her specific areas of medical interest are in emergency surgery, polytrauma and sepsis. Dr. Epple also thoroughly enjoys the teaching aspects inherent to veterinary medicine, advocating for the advancement of triage team dynamics. She is constantly seeking to raise the bar for patient care, ER team camaraderie, and bedside manner. In her downtime, Dr. Epple enjoys mountain air, microbrews, and manual labor. She has two dogs –Lola-no (the naughtiest) and Trixie Disco (the free spirit).
